Lombok, November 05, 2020 — Invest Islands, one of the fastest-growing property development companies in Indonesia, has been recognised as overall winner in the ‘Best Upcoming Hotel Development’ category at the prestigious Property Guru Awards Indonesia for its Torok Hill Resort project on the island of Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara. It will now be entered into the Best Hospitality Development category at the continent-wide PropertyGuru Awards Asia, set to be held on December 4.
The 14-hectare ‘Torok Hill Resort by Invest Islands’ broke ground last month and is being constructed with the help of Bali-based heavyweights Tunas Jaya Sanur (TJS). Set for completion in early 2022, it is a high-end luxury destination featuring sustainable design and locally sourced materials, it will comprise of 22 duplex bamboo villas on the beachfront and more than 80 one-, two- and three-bedroom villas located on a stepped hillside with panoramic views of the Indian Ocean and private swimming pools.
“We are still a relatively young company, but we are also super ambitious so it is great to see our vision and professionalism already being recognised by the judges at the PropertyGuru Awards for Indonesia,” said Kevin Deisser, who co-founded Invest Islands with business partner Jack Brown in 2015. “It strengthens our belief and confidence that we are on the right track and hopefully will motivate everyone to keep chasing our common goal, which is to help transform the south coast of Lombok in a sustainable and responsible manner.”
Sustainability is one of the pillars of Invest Islands and each of the 100+ units at Torok Hill Resort will feature energy-saving features such as rainwater catchment tanks, greywater reuse systems, and solar roof panels. Its two-storey 700sqm Waves Beach Club and Restaurant will be constructed from locally sourced bamboo and recognise indigenous architecture.
“The intention of all Invest Islands projects is to not only leave guests awe-struck, but instigate lasting positive change within the local community,” said Mr Brown. “The Torok Hill Resort by Invest Islands is a game-changer for the island’s lesser-explored southern coastline — finally a luxury option for those unwilling to sacrifice on comfort. It is exceptional yet not exclusive. An amalgamation of residential and resort, with privately owned villas making it more widely accessible.”
Designed to the highest standards, the Torok Hill Resort maximises the use of local materials and clean energy, while combining Lombok’s traditions with photogenic features able to create global exposure in a modern world. And be it through employing more than 80 per cent Indonesians, selling community wares and repurposed plastic in the gift shop, or offering guests information about the company’s various charitable initiatives, the community will also benefit greatly.
“Improving the community, be it through education, recycling or improving the economy, is where the really positive change comes from,” added Mr Deisser. “So again, I would like to thank not only all our staff and those at TJS, but also our support partners, the award judges, and all our international clients who have shown trust in us since day one. Now we look forward to December 4 and cross our fingers!”
For the first time, the sixth annual Property Guru Asia Awards Indonesia ceremony was held completely online because of the global pandemic, yet featured a virtual gala event and awards presentation. The 15th Property Guru Asia Property Awards Grand Final will be broadcast live online as a virtual gala event and awards ceremony via AsiaPropertyAwards.com and partner channels YouTube, Facebook and LinkedIn.
