Governor Bang Zul said that Lombok and Sumbawa were chosen as the locations for MXGP 2023 as recognition of the success of MXGP 2022 in Samota, Sumbawa. "Because of the excellent organization in Samota, NTB received the award to host MXGP twice this year, in Sumbawa and Lombok," he explained.

According to Bang Zul, several provinces offered to host MXGP, but Infront Moto Racing, as the organizer, chose Lombok as the second location for MXGP after the first series in Samota. The Governor added that the construction of the MXGP Lombok Circuit is the beginning of various positive developments in the future.

The MXGP Lombok Circuit is not as extreme as the one in Samota and is expected to be used for national and regional racing events as well. "It won't just stop at MXGP. The surrounding area will become more lively," he added.

Bang Zul also mentioned that NTB has experience in building circuits, citing the successful completion of the Samota Circuit. Although the Samota Circuit has not yet made a financial profit, the area has rapidly developed since its establishment, especially in terms of housing and various types of businesses.

The Governor invited the public to participate in the success of MXGP and is optimistic that it will advance tourism and boost the local economy. "The circuit will become something different. It may be like this now, but in the future, it will become a tourist destination," he said.
