Direct Flights from Singapore to Lombok to Double in Frequency, Bringing a Boost to NTB Tourism Industry

Starting from May 2023, the airline Scoot will increase the number of flight schedules to Zainuddin Abdul Majid International Airport, leading to an increase in the frequency of direct flights from Singapore to Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB).

Currently, there are only two scheduled flights per week from Singapore to Lombok. However, Arif Haryanto, the Stakeholder Relation Manager of Lombok Airport, has explained that the number of flights will increase to four per week, specifically on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.

“Indeed, there will be an addition of schedules from Singapore, and we welcome this development. The international flight route will expand,” explained Arif when confirmed by Bisnis on Tuesday (28/3/2023).

Throughout 2023, flights from Singapore are expected to bring thousands of passengers or tourists to vacation in Lombok. Angkasa Pura I has recorded that in January, there were 2,363 passengers moving to and from Singapore, followed by 2,131 passengers in February. As of March 2023, the provisional data shows 2,278 passengers. On average, each flight carries 131-142 passengers.

On average, there are 18 aircraft movements per month for the Singapore-Lombok route in each direction. However, with the projected increase in flight schedules, the number of aircraft movements is expected to double.

Zulkieflimansyah, the Governor of NTB, expressed his delight at the increase in direct flights from Singapore to Lombok, which he believes will bring a fresh boost to the region’s tourism industry. “Alhamdulillah, the frequency of direct flights from Singapore to Lombok has increased,” commented Zul briefly.
