Paul Merrick brings more than 20 years of experience in architectural and interior design, urban planning and product design to Invest Islands. He studied at the University of Westminster and Oxford Brookes in the UK before embarking on a successful career working as a design architect for high-profile international studios including TFP Farrells in Hong Kong. Settling in Hong Kong in 2009, he has since gained experience working at all scales from urban planning in China and Abu Dhabi through to bespoke interiors in Hong Kong and the UK.
Paul shares the Invest Islands ethos that architecture should be inspired by context, whether cultural, historical or a product of the brief itself. He finds working on the careful development of land in Lombok a particularly rewarding experience and is happy to be part of an organisation with a strong commitment to the environment and the unique local culture. Using this approach, he creates designs which are bespoke, responsive and unique.
Juan Manuel earned a degree in Industrial Engineering before graduating as a Project Manager at the University of La Salle in his hometown of Barcelona. His portfolio spans residential apartment buildings, industrial complexes and the extension of Terminal C at Barcelona Airport.
Alongside his role at Invest Islands, he runs an ashtanga yoga practice. Just married and with his first child on the way, he enjoys football, tennis, Moto GP and Formula One, while maintaining a passion for architecture and being an avid dog lover.
